How to Download Reddit Videos With Sound in HD (2026 Guide)

Reddit is the front page of the internet, filled with incredible viral clips, educational demonstrations, and breaking community news across thousands of subreddits. But if you have ever tried to right-click and save a video from Reddit, you have probably noticed a major issue: the downloaded file has no sound!
In this guide, we explain why Reddit video downloads normally fail to include audio, and how SVDownloader seamlessly merges the audio and video streams to give you complete, high-definition MP4 files in seconds.
Why Do Reddit Videos Have No Sound When Downloaded?
Reddit uses a proprietary video hosting player called v.redd.it. To optimize bandwidth and smooth streaming across mobile devices, Reddit splits every upload into two separate data files:
- An isolated video stream (with zero audio).
- An isolated audio stream (with zero video).
When standard browser savers grab a Reddit clip, they only capture the primary video stream, resulting in a silent video file.
The Solution: Cloud Stream Merging with SVDownloader
SVDownloader connects directly to Reddit's media manifest, fetches both the highest-quality video stream and the highest-bitrate audio track, and dynamically combines them into a standard, universal MP4 file.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Find the Reddit Post: Navigate to the Reddit post containing the video clip on Reddit.com or the official Reddit mobile app.
- Copy the URL: Tap the Share button and click Copy Link.
- Paste into SVDownloader: Open svdownloader.org/reddit-downloader and paste the link into the search field.
- Download with Sound: Click Download. Your video will be saved with 100% full synchronized audio and HD picture quality.
